I just received a conformation of my voter registration for the upcoming UK election. On the back, it lists the *many* forms of ID that are acceptable to identify yourself at the polling station. These include transit cards, driving licenses, etc... etc... I don't agree with voter ID (as I think it solves a non-existent problem, and we should be making voting *easter*, not more difficult). But I'm glad they're trying to make voter ID easier, especially for older people. #UKPol
Love this.
Managed to snag a (signed!) copy of Diversifying Open Source from the amazing Paloma Oliveira at #FOSSBackstage
On my way to Berlin for @FOSSBackstage! 🚄
Last talk of the day at #WebDayOut: @lolaodelola is taking us on a journey of web standards, explainers, implementations, and accessibility using poetry, Rust and C++… amazing! 🤩
Amazing speaker Jemima Abu kicking off #WebDayOut, “I can’t believe it’s not JavaScript” starting with a crash course on software supply chain, and covering some functionality you can implement *without* JS. Also great to see a focus on features that are in Baseline!
Meet the @tag kicking off now at SamsungKX in London.
State of the Browser kicking off in London and I’ve already seen so many lovely web people I know. The room is packed and it's also great to see how many hands went up when @dletorey asked “who is here for the first time?” #stateofthebrowser
On my way to @webstandards #StateOfTheBrowser, and I’ve got stickers!
Another good quote from @timbl's book that I'm planning to use in a talk I'm delivering today: “You [have] to develop technology and society together. You [have] to fight, in a principled and continuous way, for human rights.”
