@linguistgoneforeign Parquear la troca es otra chulada.

I'm worried about AI psychosis. Specifically, I'm worried about the psychosis that makes "capital allocators" spend *$1.4T* on the money-losingest technology in human history, in pursuit of a bizarre fantasy that if we teach the word-guessing program enough words, it will take all the jobs.

@atax1a @david_chisnall I heard it from a blind person at a disability awareness center (Dialog im Dunkel)
@stuartb @david_chisnall wasn't there someone using them to waste the time of scammers?
@david_chisnall serious ask: I've been trying to compile a list of use cases for which generative AI is a better or more viable alternative. The one example I can come up with is for visually impaired people to interact with pictures sent to them (asking questions about them) or with product at stores without having to wait for a human to be available. That's it. Do you know any others?
I've noticed many people now write like Claude, and I think part of it is unconscious mimicry. A classic pattern: "no this, no that. Just meh." I've been reviewing a lot of generated text and even I am starting to adopt the writing style, which bothers me for the same reason eating pasta every day does.
@iFixit regular petrol also works, but it smells for a while.
@ericmigi.com that is good from the perspective of maintaining an archive of the source code independent of version control platforms. It comes at the cost of space and clutter. Perhaps it would better to keep .pbw lean and introduce pbwx (extended) to include the source and other metadata you might want to add in the future, which is also instantly recognizable as more bloated (and potentially more useful).
@HerrvonSpeck because any competitor offering better bang for the buck would own them. The market will force them to be efficient as long as it is open.
