Mina the Hollower has a deep love of flying enemies that its art style simply can't support. 😫

Beat Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. It's a fun game, and also one of the buggiest I've ever played. Difficulty curve felt all over the map. Plus the silly Ubisoft account requirements make it hard to recommend.

Also, the narrative keeps repeating the following scene:

Former ally: "I'm so excited to murder you!"

You: "I don't want to fight!" (Proceeds to fight)

Dying former ally: "Ah, my old friend! You are the best and most trustworthy of us all! I love you like a brother!" (Dies)

Behold my stupidest home automation to date.

I am "gently encouraging" my children to be more aware of how much time they are spending in the bathroom by having a door sensor fire an IR blaster to start a sports timer when the door is closed, and stop it when the door opens again. 🤦

This is preferable to intermittently shouting through the door "You've been in there for 40 minutes. PLEASE turn off the shower!"

Monitor I got at the beginning of the pandemic is disappointingly starting to die on me. Any recommendations for a solid new one? Ideally:
- 4K
- Higher than 60Hz refresh
- DisplayPort
- HDR would be nice, not a deal breaker

I've updated immersiveweb.dev to hopefully be a little more helpful and a lot more maintainable. #WebXR

WebXR - Immersive Web

Learn about WebXR - the API for building virtual and augmented reality experiences on the web.

Welcome to this week's "Was this worth watching while stuck in an flying metal tube for several hours?" review:

Predator Badlands: Yeah! Not nearly as good as "Prey", but fun!
Mission Impossible Final Reckoning: Nope. Not even a little bit.

(Although I will give Mission Impossible credit for it's central thesis of "Things would be better if we could trap AI in a tiny bottle and then pretend like it never happened.")

"Wouldn't it be great if we finally had a president that stuck it to Big Oil and made the country prioritize renewables?"

GDC 2017: "Insomniac's Web Tools: A Postmortem" by Andreas Fredriksson (@deplinenoise) of Insomniac Games https://gdcvault.com/play/1023961/Insomniac-s-Web-Tools-A

I found this completely fascinating. From 2010 to 2017, Insomniac made their game development tools (level editors, sequencers, animation editors, node-based visual script editors, etc.) with web technology, so they ran in Chrome. This presentation is about what they discovered by doing so, both technologically and culturally.

I am moving to a usage-based billing

Dear employer, I will no longer charger a flat monthly salary, instead I will move to token based billing. Included will be every token I receive as input, including but not limited to emails, slack messages, spoken words and mandatory multi-modal meetings that could have been emails. Included will also be output tokens in the form of code, documentation and small talk. Tokens will also be consumed by my internal monolog as I reason about problems.

Been playing Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Decent metroidvania, nice controls, but I've hit multiple game-breaking bugs!
- A boss that never attacked
- A door that opened but wouldn't let me pass
- A trap that failed to trigger, blocking progress
