Too weird to live, too rare to die. I get frustrated with computers for a living, and moonlight as a stunt double for actor Benicio Del Toro. Native Hawaiian
Maximum sound levels without clipping the speaker or the sub. Needing loud music today.
“How will you be spending the 2026 Texas ice storm sir?”

Reggae Roast “Turn Up The Heat” hasn’t been in the rotation for a couple of years…

And friends that’s just too long.

The only reason it fails is because I asked Claude to tell me the OCR results. Once the string is in the chat history, Claude stops.

I created an image with this string in it, and a pineapple, and Claude would process the image and identify the pineapple just fine. But when I asked about the text, Claude would return the full string and then refuse.

Mildly interesting.

Went to two different music events last night. They couldn’t have been more different from one another.

Went to this Dub night with a pretty big sound system. My ears are still ringing. One set was dub, one was what I guess I’d almost call dancehall. My ears are still ringing.

It was a small gathering, and it sounds like they are just getting it night started up. Probably will go check this out again.

Went to Radio afterward to say hey to one of my friends that manages the place, and to check out a little of the Monday Bluegrass night.

There’s a lot of difference in how the sound systems were set. Honestly the PA for the bluegrass was a lot nicer to listen to. Very clear and not crazy loud.

The sound system guys - seemed like typical DJs where they want to live in the red part of the volume spectrum. I love loud shit, but yeah they need to figure a few things out. Feedback on the mic, and external shit (dub siren in particular) way louder than the music.

Also, it seems like the guys playing last night don’t know how to blend tunes. They even played two versions of “I’m still in Love” but didn’t actually MIX them. They kind of hard cut over.

I guess I’m still an elitist DJ who has standards.

Hawaiian language updates seem to have languished for Duolingo. I happened to hit 1000 day streak right before my next subscription day. I think I’ll just spend my $80 on my online Hawaiian language classes now.

Thanks Duolingo. You taught me everything you could. I learned a lot of Hawaiian from ya.

I am obsessed with the fucking volcano
Kīlauea started up around 8:30 HST
Kīlauea getting started again. Probably will be fountaining in a couple hours. Trust me, I’m a very amateur volcanologist.
