Deutsch-österreichisches Seil- und Eisenbahnwesen. Makes trains to nyoooom.

Trying to post interesting stuff about railways, mostly end up doing terrible puns instead.

Follow requests are vibe checked, but don't have particular rules.

"Biel-live"
Wieso gibt es eigentlich kein zweijährliches Kulturevent in Biel, was sich Bienne-ale nennt?
Welche Amateure haben das Vieh eigentlich Timmy genannt und nicht Wal-ter?

With an unofficial 4' interchange onto S7 in Stadelhofen, I'm back on new track immediately. S7 is once again operated by a 511 and heads down to Rapperswil SG along the northeastern bank of the Zürichsee. Because this side gets so much more sun, it has some of the highest real estate prices in Switzerland.
The view is beautiful though.

This train terminates in Rapperswil SG, which also concludes todays exploration. I'm heading home on S4, the Ring-S-Bahn of St. Gallen as it gets dark outside.

And now we're riding ! No, this is something different, but the Forchbahn  also can't decide whether it wants to be a train or a tram. Unlike the vehicles  bought, these don't actually have anything to do with  or  though.

The schedule treats it as tram 18, but it is marked as S18 in the Zürich S-Bahn map. From Rehalp until Stadelhofen, it operates on the tram tracks of . It does have tunnel stations.

The line goes over some hills before descending down to Zürichsee, making for some nice views. It then terminates on the square infront of Stadelhofen station, where the train bends almost 180° as it turns around.

This is the only line today where Interrail is not valid unfortunately.

One last bike ride, heading to Esslingen! No, not the one near Stuttgart.

The sign posts make for a bit of an Oberbayern vibe

Next up: 3 missing S-Bahn Zürich branches.

Starting with S14 to Hinwil, which is a new track for me from Wallisellen onwards. There is a node to Wetzikon on the way which I've been to from Rüti towards Pfäffikon, but the setup with 3 ways in and one branch line makes it a bit annoying to travel all lines. There is no normal service behind Hinwil.

Nothing exciting on the way to Hinwil. There are facilities to fill steam locomotives, as there is a steam train running on the remaining section sometimes.
