昨天的討論讓我想到《Weapons of Math Destruction》這本書，查了一下發現竟然已經10年了。
10年前，就有一整本書在講演算法與數學模型，強化偏見與歧視的危險！

很不幸的，10年之後，這些模型被LLM包裝成似人的，更通用的「AI」，然後他們可能的偏見與歧視卻更不為人知🥲。
真的是超級諷刺的，昨天才在想週末和朋友聊的 Taiwan Studies 領域的研究內容。
所以這個站長認為，整個學界領域的知識，是 AI 模型可以憑空整理出來的？
世界上到底有什麼這個規模的事情會這麼簡單？

為什麼會有人挖一個維基百科大小的坑自己跳下去，而且一上線就寫 AI content welcome⋯⋯這應該很快就會出事了吧。然後又說，希望AI能看到屬於台灣人的內容，那是⋯⋯用AI內容訓練AI嗎？
動機很值得鼓勵，但再怎麼偉大的動機，都不該是走捷徑的藉口吧？

每次聽做Taiwan Studies 研究的朋友講他的主題都覺得，啊，人就是要有這種眼睛發光的熱情才能在一個領域讀PhD 啊⋯⋯而且每次聽這些研究都一邊覺得很有趣，一邊覺得原來我們不知道的事情還有很多很多。
真心覺得Taiwan Studies領域在形塑的是那個未來想像的國家的獨特的靈魂。希望這個學界能繼續成長。

It has always been that middle/upper middle classes are allowed to enjoy their share of equity growth through stock ownership.
With the acknowledgement that this is already leaving a large swath of people in society behind — I wonder when public stock markets become unpalatable with even richer people are shutting stock-owning public out. Or dump their losses on them.

I heard enough stories to know that when a company goes public (IPO), they often need to build a nice-sounding story about themselves in their S-1 filing.
While these are official SEC filings, we all know stories are meant to be taken with a grain of salt.
But when you hear the next company to IPO allegedly is going to say “building a Dyson Swarm in the solar system”, you know it is going to need a giant pile of unhealthy salt to the palate. 😂
