The Brazilian Network for Social Justice and Human Rights, Friends of the Earth and ActionAid join TIAA-Divest expose U.S. pension giant TIAA's targeting of land in Brazil for industrial soy plantations—threatening local communities and the environment. The research panel will present recommendations for TIAA, for public policy makers, and university employees on how to address the problems.
TIAA and other big investors keep pouring BILLIONS into fossil fuels, driving extreme heat and making the climate crisis worse. It’s a destructive cycle—but we have the power to break it. We need climate action and sustainable investing.

TIAA must drop Tesla.
If you are a TIAA client we need you to tell them to #droptesla
Between #facism, #deforestation, #corporategreed, #environmental damages, #HumanRights violations and MORE. There are no reasons to stay invested in Tesla and #TIAA needs to hear this
Sustainable Investing = Smart Investing
TIAA continues to pour billions into fossil fuels and deforestation-linked industries, but here’s the truth: climate-resilient investments aren’t just better for the planet—they’re better for your financial future too. Integrating climate-smart strategies can enhance long-term financial performance, protecting investors from risks like stranded assets, regulatory crackdowns, and market shifts. Meanwhile, fossil fuel investments are increasingly volatile.
Mahmoud Khalil's detention by ICE isn't just an isolated incident; it's a stark warning to all student activists. When lawful protest leads to arrest, our fundamental rights are under siege. We must rally together to defend free speech and ensure that activism remains a protected act, not a punishable offense. #FreeMahmoudKhalil

President Donald Trump is warning that the arrest and possible deportation of a Palestinian activist who helped lead protests at Columbia University will be the first “of many to come” as his administration cracks down on protests against the war in Gaza. Mahmoud Khalil was arrested Saturday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. His lawyer says the agents claimed the government was revoking his green card. The Department of Homeland Security has said the arrest was in response to Trump’s executive orders prohibiting antisemitism. But a Manhattan judge Monday ordered he not be deported until a lawsuit challenging his detention is considered.
The Supreme Court has rejected a lawsuit from Republican attorneys general in 19 states aimed at blocking climate change suits against the oil and gas industry from Democratic-led states. The justices acted Monday on an unusual Republican effort to file suit in the Supreme Court over the Democratic states' use of their own state courts to sue fossil fuel companies for deceiving the public about the risks of their products contributing to climate change. The Supreme Court typically hears only appeals, but the Constitution authorizes it to hear original lawsuits states file against each other. The Republican action was led by Alabama's attorney general and sought to stop lawsuits from California, Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey and Rhode Island.
Trump’s withdrawal from the Fund for Responding for Loss and Damage underscores a troubling disregard for global #climatejustice.
The Trump administration has told world financial institutions that the U.S. is pulling out of the landmark international climate Loss and Damage Fund. Last week's formal withdrawal by the Treasury Department exited the country from the fund. The Treasury did not respond to a request for comment. The fund was agreed upon in 2022. It is designed as compensation for damage by polluting nations to poor countries especially hurt by the extreme storms, heat and drought caused by the burning of coal, oil and gas. A dozen nations have pledged more than the U.S.
