I wear a lot of hats. Tech is cool - let's make tech safety cooler.

Technology is politics.

Today, over 3 months later, I received a new ad from the service with a salutation containing my name, sent to the old email, but prepended with "ccpadelete_." The bozos just changed the email on the account, didn't disable marketing emails, and my wildcard alias caught it 🤦‍♂️

Spotted these lil dudes hanging out in the shade. I don't know how to identify, but I enjoyed taking the picture! 🍄‍🟫

Starting January 1st, 2026, Californians will have a state-sponsored data broker deletion and opt-out portal called DROP. This is a big win for privacy in California!

Protect your personal information. Data brokers collect, share, and sell your personal information. You can stop that from happening.

PancakesCon 6 just closed and I am so happy to see it is still going strong. Thanks to @hacks4pancakes, the volunteers, and speakers. Dipped my toe in the CTF and learned a couple of things including what a Tim Tam slam is

I'm wondering how common creating a Wi-Fi site plan based on a wireless survey is for deployments in industrial settings. It feels to me like many IT orgs don't understand the needs of the wireless clients or the spectrum utilization. Do people plan channel allocations and coverage cells size or do they just leave the settings on auto and let the controller or the AP figure it out? Have you had applications where either method has worked better or caused unexpected problems?

Please boost for reach! 😊

Also, It's definitely worth checking your local public library for titles too! I've started spending more time at mine and am so grateful places like this exist 📖📚
I just heard about https://bookshop.org. It seems like it could be a good alternative to Amazon for books. They fulfill book orders and distribute some of the profits to local bookstores! You can select a specific bookstore to receive the profit.
Of course, buying directly from the bookstore is probably going to be better for the bookstore, but it's nice to have an extra option.
Bookshop: Buy books online. Support local bookstores.

An online bookstore that financially supports local independent bookstores and gives back to the book community.
