@pcublogue This is one of my biggest complaints about Zorin. The implication is that they're including some premium applications with your paid subscription but everything they include can be downloaded freely. E.g. kdenlive, GIMP, Inkscape, Blender, Ardour, Libre Office etc.
Zorin is solid and I appreciate what they're doing but their "Bundled with alternatives to over $5,000 of professional software" claim seems disingenuous.
@bflipp If having 5 fields is good, 6 must be better. Right?
I've worked in AWS for years and this still bites me from time to time. I always swear I'll remember it next time but I never do. If I don't need any level of precision the "rate(5 minutes)" syntax is usually adequate.
I like Signal. It's adequate but good luck getting normies to use it. Whenever I try to get someone to use Signal I just get hit with "Nah, I'm on whatsapp. I'm not downloading another app just to talk to you, you kook."
Fortunately I've never used whatsapp so I'm not impacted by this news in the slightest.
@auritech Aside from some occasional weird scaling issues, things work pretty well. I've had limited success with Wine too. Sometimes a VM is just the way to go.
If it works I bet people would be interested in a post somewhere detailing how you did it.
@auritech There's no reason you couldn't. If you've got the chops, go for it. GUIs are for folks who just don't want to mess with the cli. I however prefer the cli.
I run a few VMs locally using libvirt/qemu/kvm and they work great. No audio issues to speak of. I just have to keep some notes about my setup in #obsidian because I don't remember how to use it after not touching the VMs for a while.
