@takaharu You can configure Windows to use UTC for BIOS timezone. Some Linux distros also detect a Windows install and politely switch themselves to local time as part of the installer. So now I have Windows using UTC and Fedora using local time and I keep forgetting to fix it...
If I ever actually won more than $5mil or so I think I'd have an existential crisis. $5mil is just, like, a house and a retirement fund. Much more than that and it's like, 'ah fuck, I guess I have to start a business or something.'
If the lottery company ever rings me up and tells me I've won the big one, I'll tell them I'm going to spend the money on 'the usual millionaire things': cocaine and fraud
bye at first sight
@ami_angelwings giving the old turn-360°-and-walk-away
@ami_angelwings The Frieren anime starts off as a journey though a mysterious world that we mostly learn about in past tense, being about Frieren and fam growing as people while cleaning up after past solutions. Then the series ends with a solid ten episodes of Mages Pissing On Each Other to show off how cool Frieren is. Oh well.

Really funny that IPv6 is all about having functionally infinite addresses in every subnet and then goes and gives you one (1) loopback address. You get ::1 and that's it.

(IPv4 gives you the whole 127.0.0.0/8 range to play with (~16 million addresses) (trying to use anything other than 127.0.0.1 may not work in practice))

In 2065 someone's gonna write historical fiction about this year and it's gonna get slammed because, 'you can't have a new crisis every week, that couldn't possibly be realistic,' but lo, there is a new crisis every bloody week
@nazokiyoubinbou There's only like ten years between the AdLib and soundcards just becoming an out pipe for the CPU like today, so I reckon 'better sound hardware' just didn't happen for most people. They went straight from a card that could only play Doom's soundtrack in FM to one that couldn't play it at all.
@foone Yeah Teri wrote that polling code. Like how My wrote MySQL.
