My favorite Star Trek movie is 37 today! Some of the things I love about this movie:
1) It's an actual adventure that isn't about revenge or having to blow something up. It's about solving a problem and having fun along the way.
2) It manages to capture the wonder and vibe of Star Trek while somehow being set... NOT in space for the majority of the movie.
3) Kirk and Spock curse and it's a whole thing.
4) Spock mind melds with a damn whale.
5) It's easily the most quotable Star Trek movie.

Dear Microsoft. Here is a list of things I want the Start Menu to do:

* Show my installed programs
* Search my local files
* Provide access to system settings

Here is a list of things I do *not* want the Start Menu to do:

* Show the weather for a randomly-selected town near my network's public IP infrastructure
* Show tabloid headlines
* Show programs I *don't* have installed
* Search the web via Bing
* Show adverts(!)
* Attempt to engage me in conversation with a hallucinating LLM

Thanks.

@TechConnectify I just wanted to let you know I'm a big fan of your channel, but this is the first time I've seen your content memed.

Today I noticed a moth on the wall near my 3D printer. I brushed it down towards the floor without thinking much of it. Unknown to me there was a spider with their web directly under the moth. That spider went to work on that thing so fast I was shocked. We are now best friends.

tl;Dr I spiked a moth buffet into a spider web and then the spider and I high fived.

I love 3D printing. I can just solve my own problem rather than hope someone makes a product to solve it for me. In this instance I'm using a wire rack without it's top shelf to house some computer equipment. I can't use the top shelf because it will block my window. This is a temporary solution until I find something better, but I don't want the poles to be a hazard so I printed soft 70A padded caps. #printablescom #3dprint #tpu #70a #filaflex

I hope future #telltale games such as #theWolfAmongUs isn't an Epic exclusive. I was looking forward to #TheExpanseATelltaleSeries until I found out it was locked to that platform.
I'm fairly certain my wife and I are on a hidden camera show where she secretly has to keep as close as possible to me while we try and cook in the kitchen while getting in the way as much as she can. Little does she know... I too am playing this game.

Yes, right, for images! #AltText describes images for those who cannot see.
A very good thread with tips for every platform / device is https://dragonscave.space/@BrailleScreen/110669320797682986

I just wanted to give a tip about those writing alt text. I thank everyone who does so! It makes my Mastodon experience so much more amazing! But a tip, though: If you are describing, say, text on a screen, it would be very appreciated if you describe not just the screen that exists, but what is on the screen. Here is an example. If you say, "A screen shot of my phone's screen, showing a post on Mastodon." it doesn't much help because I ask myself (since I cannot see the image) "Yes? What does it say? A better example would be, say: "A screen shot of my phone's screen. There is a Mastodon post that reads: 'This is my amazing post!'" It really, really helps me understand the full context.

One of my favorite parts of #thegoldengirls is how Rose (Betty White) accidentally killed two men by sleeping with them.
