It’s been quite a few months since I posted here.
I went to Open Sauce with my delta printer backpack. I also built the “cookiecad-astrophe” game for CookieCAD with a raspberry pi pico, CNC, pneumatics, and lots of printed parts.
I built a Positron V3.2 printer and brought it with me on my trip to Dallas for Quakecon. The Positron will be the next backpack printer I make for 3DPrintopia in Bel-Air, MD
I’ve been developing a parametric jewelry keepsake box that I can easily CNC and add a 3D printed insert to make attaching the hardware easier. I hope to include a simple tilt switch LED and mirror in the lid but it could be customized to a tiny lcd and raspberry pi if you really wanted to get fancy.

- cleaned up the electronics cabinet and moved computer inside the cabinet to shorten data cables.
- programmed the PLC/HMI with flow and temp sensors for spindle water cooling alarms.
- 108 t-nuts inserted into base plywood and spoil board mounted. M6 bolts for flexible clamping and fixtures.

- plywood baseboard cut and ready to mount.
-installed led overhead lights
-machine homing smoothly and spindle sort of works. Spent way too long troubleshooting Modbus rs485 comms to vfd.
-resquared frame and drilled and tapped holes in frame to mount the baseboard. MDF spoilboard should be easier to add with threaded inserts.
We stopped by System Source Computer Museum and saw some awesome rare computers most of which still function!
#errf2023 I updated my original 3D printer backpack with the upgraded Eris, it was much more comfortable to wear and did fairly well printing all weekend on battery while I was walking. Awesome printed costumes and props and droids. Found my dream giant printer.
