It's been a long time since I've really streamed some #videogames but I've been back recently with Farthest Frontier. It's a very impressive city-builder that has its hooks into me, where I lose track of time and just crave playing one more year (in-game).
I'll be live at https://twitch.tv/astarrgames until it gets late or I get tired. We'll see!

#Ontario landlords have been applying for and granted Above Guideline Increases to tenants' rent, in some cases with unaddressed maintenance issues and work not being done properly. Tenant organizers say that AGIs are "just another way to make rent unaffordable for long term tenants."

“The city rolls out the red carpet for these arms dealers. It makes me sick.”

No arrests, but a large police presence stood between protesters and the CANSEC weapons fair.

The weapons trade fair, CANSEC, is coming back to #Ottawa this week.

Consider Canada's recent investment into military spending to meet NATO targets alongside the US, while the government cuts back on public services and jobs. Consider how Canadian arms are being used by Saudi Arabia and Israel against civilians in Palestine and Yemen.

There will rightfully be massive push-back against this locally. Join and support the anti-war movement - speak out online, raise defense funds, and show up!

Next week in #Ottawa a weapons trade fair will be met by protests mobilized by a community opposing war profiteering for decades.

We look at the reasons and history behind Shut Down CANSEC including anti-war successes at having the event banned:

Is it finally time to switch to Linux?

I’m not there yet, but after seeing a lot more interest in Linux over the past couple years while the hate for Microsoft has grown, this summer I want to give it a real shot. Maybe even with the new Framework laptop?

I explain why in this month’s recap!

Thanks for these! There's a shop I regularly go to, but their turnaround takes a lot longer than I need. Not having a bike for a daily commute is difficult and expensive.

I'm bad at repairs, even more ones. I've tried to learn, but I've been unable to retain or use fine motor skills to resolve problems, even like loose brakes or changing a tire tube. I am willing to pay someone else for their time and labour to eliminate that stress.

ReCycles is great and that's where I've bought bikes before.

Does anyone know someone in #Ottawa that repairs bikes outside of a shop in Centretown/Chinatown/Glebe areas?

I'm an avid biker but am bad at minor tune-ups and repairs, like tightening breaks or replacing tubes. I'm looking to cut out the shop wait times since it's for my daily commute.

Students in Ottawa React to OSAP Cuts - The Leveller

By Maxwell Heroux & Maheeshan Sivanesan O  n February 12, the Ontario government announced it will cut OSAP grants and end the domestic tuition freeze starting this fall. This would drop the maximum available grants for a student to 25 per cent while at least 75 per cent of support will be delivered as loans. …
