Alright I've had two Actually Sunny days on my three (count 'em) old cheap secondhand solar panels that I raccooned off facebook marketplace and this coincided with hearing politicians argue about solar on the radio so I now have a Political Opinion About Solar Panels
It is this
Solar panels. Solar panels everywhere. Solar panels EVERYWHERE, on EVERY roof, Right The Fuck Now, every single doubt or worry I ever had about these things has been completely resolved just by holding panels in my hands and watching the power move silently into my battery to watch telly with tonight. House in cloudsville? Solar panels. House under the biggest densest tree in the world? Solar panels. Even in the shade they're still putting out power. Even fifteen years old they're still putting out power. Every worry I had was based on lies. My only regret is that I didn't start sooner. Solar panels everywhere right the fuck now.
Our 12 volt battery in our EV died.
All things considered, the price to replace at $600 wasn't awful, and I think what it cost on the van.
Pottery by OsaA couple of weeks ago a woman who’d followed me on Instagram for 10 years happened to be in town and came to pay me a visit. We had written back and forth over the years and sent each other gifts in the mail. She even began making pottery herself, she says inspired by me. Leaving IG after twelve years was no simple, easy thing. Meeting her made me remember the positive side of social media—it’s potential to connect like-minded, kindred souls who never would otherwise have met.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees are taking their own lives at a pace that’s unprecedented in the agency’s two-decade history, highlighting what experts call failures in care and oversight. An Associated Press investigation finds that at least 10 ICE detainees have died by suicide since President Donald Trump returned to office in January 2025 and ordered ICE to increase arrests and deportations. That includes seven deaths since October, already the most in one fiscal year with several months remaining. The increased pace of suicides exceeds the growth in ICE’s detainee population. The deaths happened at detention facilities operated by private contractors and local jails run by sheriffs. All were men, and most were Hispanic.
