Throwback Thursday: grazing woodland dweller
After a frustratingly unsuccessful search for wolves in the forest, we spotted groups of people on the road ahead despite the very early hour, shortly after sunrise. Firstly, we were assuming an accident; secondly, a new wolf kill. But when we came closer, we noticed that nearly all of them were carrying cameras with long telephoto lenses. Thus, we stopped and left the car slowly and in silence.

Throwback Thursday: European bison
Today, I'm focusing on the bison, as promised last week. The wisent, also known as the European bison, is the largest land mammal in Europe. It has a massive, muscular body with a high shoulder hump, a large head, and relatively long legs compared with other bison species. Adult wisents typically reach about 1.8–2.1 meters in height at the shoulder and can weigh between 400 and 900 kilograms, with males being much heavier than females.
