Idle hands make the devil’s work, so it’s a damn good thing my hands aren’t idle. Ended up doing the devil’s work anyway.

@innkeeper I extended post length and added a bunch of emojis too

we survived the server migration

also, I migrated the mastodon server from LXC to VM

I woke up around 10am and started playing CrossCode and looked at the time just now and it’s 5pm.

Ah, so it’s one of those games, then.

This account ain’t dead, but I really haven’t had time to stream or make videos with a lot of stuff going on right now in my life. I’ll be back though, some time in the future.
@innkeeper @therealahall update: coffee is causing time dilation for Alex and he can no longer determine whether it is today or yesterdays mug
@ItsMeAlex @innkeeper other grannies bring cookies but this one brings the ruckus
@innkeeper @therealahall I know! If I had a nickel every time I looked for a KDE setting from my desktop on Steam Deck and it wasn’t there I’d have like eighteen nickels
@innkeeper you’re the admin just ban mondays from the server and problem solved
@EighthLayer @chris tl;dr email is never secure and at best, somewhat private based on your trust of a third party and nothing else

@EighthLayer @chris I personally just have a plain old IMAP mailbox at MXRoute. Email isn’t secure unless both users have end to end encryption using PGP or something. DMARC, DKIM just serve to confirm this email really came from who it says it did and that the server was allowed to send mail from the domain.

So, when looking at Proton and Tuta and the like, when they say “secure” they mean “we don’t let the feds root through our server”. Nothing more.
