In the five-way race among the bureaucratic processes I'm currently ensnared in, Canada has taken an early lead. There is no action as of yet, but they have sent a tracking number which allows me to confirm the lack of action, so they are the current front-runner.

As a token of this early win, a red tape sculpture in the shape of a maple leaf will be sent to Ottawa as soon as the Canada Post strike is resolved.🇨🇦

It seems odd to say "Happy Pride" during a period when trans folks are fearing for their lives in many places, when the funding for HIV vaccines has been terminated, and where pretty much all the civil rights gained since Stonewall are under threat.

But you should be happy anyway, if for no other reason than it will piss off those trying to hurt our community. Take joy with your friends and in your actions. Be happy you have made it, and be determined to continue to keep going.

I am currently awaiting the outcomes of bureaucratic processes in five different countries. All of them are multi-step, and the timelines for all of them are slower than usual according to the bureaucrats themselves.

Can we get thumb-twiddling into the Olympics? Because I need some good to come out of this, and I suspect I'm going to be a contender.
