A jug Secret Whisper Wild Green Tea with Mangnolia out of Vietanam

All the way from Hà Giang to Hội An... and I was never alone. My almost 5 yr old accompanied me bravely during the last 4 weeks. I might be the only crazy person in this world to go tea sourcing with a small child, but I'm ok with that.
Of course it was not always easy, but: We made it and now treating ourselves to a week at the beach in Hội An before it's time to go back to Austria with a suitcase full of... #tea :)
@tea
That trip turned into a life changing journey. I discovered and fell in love with wild #tea here, and I have since been blessed with numerous wonderful encounters and friendships and even a Vietnamese sister in law.
Being here now has taken me to places where I had the strong feeling of having been there before - even though I have not, at least not in this lifetime.
"Why don't you go to China to buy #tea? - it's cheaper!" I have been asked this question many times in the past few weeks here in Vietnam.
The answer is simple: I love Vietnam.
When I first came here seven years ago, I remember stepping out of the air conditioned airport into the thick, humid air of Ho Chi Minh City and I instantly felt... at home. Already ten years prior to that there had been this incessant wish to visit Vietnam, lacking any logical explanation.
It's already time to say good-bye to the mountains again...
Beautiful view of Hà Giang town from the hill and Km 0 - starting point of the "happiness road" (national highway 4C) and symbolic start of the famous Hà Giang loop.
It was on that loop that I first got in touch with wild tea seven years ago 🥹
If you dislike fresh, extremely aromatic and on top of that really healthy food... don't come to Vietnam 🙃
Nem lụi nướng - a dish where you make your own rice paper rolls... so delicious 😋
And all that for 70000 VND (~ 2,30€) including a side of fried spring rolls, a bowl of rice, fresh kumquat juice and... some tip 🥹
More tea trees and stunning scenery in Hà Giang. It's an almost mystical atmosphere up there in the mist. The trees are estimated to be around 200 years old 🍃
It might have been the last tea trees I got to see on this trip - soon it's time to go further South.
Taking a little break in Hà Giang town today from tea and tea trees after a week of sometimes exhausting travelling.
Delicious cà phê muối - salt coffee with the most special decoration ever.
If you think a double espresso is strong, you have not tried Vietnamese coffee. It's brewed with a special filter that makes the coffee drip ultra slowly - the result is delicious, but not for the faint hearted 🙃
