Wait - we don't need that 10 node kubernetes cluster to host our website?

Back in June, I saw a pre-print paper from Google about which APIs Malicious/Ad SDKs use on Android to fingerprint and track users. This made me want to respond with an article about how Apple is much better at privacy but I ended up writing an article about the iOS equivalents for fingerprinting users.

The Brave affiliate story was quite bad and I have absolutely no love for the CEO. Everything else (that I know of) I did not find deplorable enough to make me search for a better browser.

You gotta pick your battles these days.

@brianm

These days "not evil" feels like a higher standard than it used to be.

@brianm

I am using Brave+Enpass. It works but the experience isn't stellar either.

@ChrisShort

pgdog sounds quite interesting ... got any real world experience comparing it to pgbouncer?

“I wanted the blue checkmark on LinkedIn. The one that says “this person is real.” In a sea of fake recruiters, bot accounts, and AI-generated headshots, it seemed like a smart thing to do.

So I tapped “verify.” I scanned my passport. I took a selfie. Three minutes later — done. Badge acquired. I felt a tiny dopamine hit of legitimacy.

Then I did what apparently nobody does. I went and read the privacy policy and terms of service.

Not LinkedIn’s. The other company’s”

@britter

They better update. I thought those are now "war agencies" 😅 😔 (sarcasm)

* zutiefst korruptes Geschäftsmodell
* große Schäden für die Gesellschaft
* Mindestalter LEGITIMIERT das Geschäftsmodell und seine Opfer sind „selbst schuld.“
