“Researchers measured autistic people against neurotypical expectations and called every difference a deficit. They tested empathy by measuring in-group preference and missed commitment to universal fairness. They measured creativity by counting the number of ideas and missed originality. They saw moral consistency and called it rigidity. They saw deep engagement and called it rigidity. They saw sensory richness and called it disorder.”

What the World Got Wrong About Autistic People

For decades, autism research compared autistic people to animals, denied them moral sensitivity, and assumed autistic traits made them miserable. All wrong.

Yes, the latest yt-dlp looks for an external javascript runtime. I can say deno works for me, I expect others are fine too.

The Hobbit. I didn't know this existed and it's something I pined for since having seen the movies when they first came out. "A fan edit that combines Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy into a more captivating faithfully adapted single-movie experience." Not watched it yet. But sounds like its well done.

M4's The Hobbit Fan Edit – Tolkien Inspired Recut

The M4 edit recuts Peter Jackson's The Hobbit film trilogy into a single movie that follows J.R.R. Tolkien's book more closely.

I honestly don’t know which makes me laugh the hardest. The fact of what the lyrics actually are or the hysterical laughter of one of the men discussing this. This is my favorite video of the year so far.🩵🦁🦁🦁🩵

One ATC anywhere is insufficient. ATCs are human and need restroom breaks and other time; if the airport cannot be left unmanaged, you should have multiple staff.

The folks who run La Guardia should know better. In fact, they do. Blame lies squarely on their shoulders.

Heat. I get them regularly, and heat is the quick fix. I have a heating pad within arm's reach. The moment I realize it's happening, I plug it in and wrap the muscle (usually the calf) and put it on the highest heat. Every single time the cramp goes away just as the heat becomes uncomfortable, and you can shut it off and go back to bed.

I used to get cramps that would last hours and I'd limp for a day. Since the heating pad - 5-10 minutes, back to sleep.
