It's just that this trip to retrieve my little friends, while desperately welcome, has been a huge bottleneck. Coming off a house move two weeks ago isn't making it any easier.
But I do know that I have a TON to be thankful for, and top of that list is having friends I can turn to and at least ask for help. I know things are tight though, so if you haven't got any to spare, it's okay. 💜

Engaging in a discussion that requires a Muslim to convince non-Muslims that Islam is a peaceful religion, even hypothetically, is to ignore centuries of colonial extraction, Orientalist scholarship, the projection of European violence onto the colonised “other”, and the erasure of other religious believers coexisting in the regions where Muslims reside. The very grammar of “prove your religion isn’t violent” assumes a white, Western, post-Enlightenment subject as the judge—and every Muslim as the accused. To hypothetically engage in that discussion is to accept those terms.

If it’s truly about women’s liberation, why don't you start with the men closest to you? Hold them accountable for their participation in a system that oppresses them but also rewards their complicity. Your fixation on Muslim women, and those in Iran and Afghanistan in particular, is pathetic and nothing short of paternalistic.
