Okay, uh, WOW, I had not realized it has been over a month since my last #beekeeping update (SO sorry y'all)
My #bees are THRIVING. I am shocked and amazed at just how strong this hive is!
Over the course of a month, these guys managed to fill not one, not two, but THREE boxes full of honey! I added box number four today because they started building on the inner lid.
I quit feeding them sugar water two or three weeks ago (time is an illusion) and it has not slowed them down!
I am SO PROUD!🐝

Greetings Fediverse! I am sporadic about posting and I apologize.

I have another #beekeeping update!
I've been told it's unusual to have honey the first year you have bees, but my little ones have filled both boxes already! I'm so proud of them!

They are doing a terrific job, and the hive seems to be happy and healthy! 🐝🌷

No pic this time, I'm still trying to get the hang of safely smoking the bees and whatnot. But I will as soon as I can!

Bee update!

Everyone seems to be thriving 💕 My entire property is surrounded by honeysuckle, and they are all blooming right now. It's taken over a week for the bees to finish their sugar water, and I just refilled it this morning.
I did manage to get stung once, but it was completely my fault. I didn't realize one was on my shirt and when I moved my arm I got stung. No big deal, I just feel bad for the bee.
I should be getting another box soon to give them room to stretch out 🌸

Guess what!
I am officially in the world of beekeeping! 🐝
My dad has been a beekeeper my whole life, and he gave me an empty bee box. A wild swarm of honeybees was on my property and we have safely got the queen and the other bees into the box 🌷

My next order of business is to plant flowers
