my political position is that i would like things to be noticeably less insane than they currently are. this is considered "not having principles" by people who think everything should be on fire

Scott is so good at writing that he makes me ashamed:

"Get excited! Whatever the discussion topic is, make yourself sound really really enthused! Unsettlingly pumped! Chomping at the bit with turgid desire!"

If it cites em dashes as proof, it came from a tool.

It's a safe bet that most of us have encountered the age-old admonition to "never judge a book by its cover" at some point in our lives. There is a deep wisdom in that advice---wisdom that seems to go completely out the window as soon as a certain type of person spots a certain type of punctuation.

Yeah that's what's happening at the moment for me, added a kbin "subreddit" as a test and now I get all the different comments as single posts.
But it's still great to explore this, and I would bet some people are working on improving this. I'm going the check out the GitHub repo as well
@runedancetwo
Nice thanks I'm going to try that

Thanks for the help, you ppl here are really welcoming!
I read some things about the technical side already, which is quite interesting and makes me wonder how I managed to miss all of this until now.
I also think it will (unfortunately) scare many people away who don't care about how it works.
Some practical help would indeed be great! E.g. how do I get content from #kbin to show up here without every post being unconnected to the respective thread

Always a good day when the final parts come in 😁

I'm looking for some good new places, but at the same time i have to figure out how everything works together here in the fediverse
Well, at least Reddit has admitted their "we're not trying to be like Twitter/Elon" stuff was false
@TraceGallant what a nice, beautiful problem
I might have an ergo problem
