It's been an interesting week in #Dubai and far from normal. It was also a week of many intentions manifesting - which is to give back to the industry and community. So, I happy to talk about these that have been becoming real this week: πŸ“Œ Scholarship Committee for ISC2 - it has been four years since the first review and I'm excited to once again be a part of this initiative. https://lnkd.in/dfvfHsK4 πŸ“Œ Women4Cyber Mentorship Program - the cohort is as part of their European programme https://lnkd.in/dxSWQYmq πŸ“Œ Knowledge sharing back to the community and particular the GCC. From Ampcus Cyber CISO Council membership right through to interviews and sharing insights for Cyble as part of the International Women's Day focus this month. Especially with the current events it is really important to take a detox and to take care of yourself. This weekend was also my intention to go out, take care of my wellness and socialize. So, it was fun to play tennis organized by fΓ©minitΓ© which is based in Dubai and holds various social events for women. I'll leave this post with a nice video on the way to the tennis.

This year I made a commitment to do more volunteer work and to give back to the community.

I recently left some opportunities to give myself more bandwidth for this.

One of them is https://women4cybermentorship.chronus.com/p/p2/about - I recommend joining in and signing up either as a mentee or mentor.

Just signed up to https://women4cybermentorship.chronus.com/p/p2 as a mentor. But applications look like it is open for both mentees and mentors.

@13reak That's good to know. Yes would want one that is geared more at people not working in infosec so nothing too rigid.

Honest take but over the past couple of years I have been slowly peeling away a certain type of project that I have been doing to the point that I -think- it is safe to say that I want to just spend a year aka 12 months where I am not at all thinking about security audits.

Like the thought of it gives me some energy of actually being more hands on and feeling already curious about new projects and concepts..

@13reak What do you mean by balanced? Thanks for the recommendations!

For fun (not for work or a company), I want to make my own CTF and distribute it to a small group of friends.

Anyone have recommendations of any particular platforms they used or dabbled with? (pref OS)

Remember the time last month when I was invited to several "urgent" meetings on days where I am out of office? And being told that I had to attend?

I didn't attend them.

And the deadlines are still going on today and through this month.

Those meetings are never "urgent".
It was always about keeping up the appearances of the instigators.

Very interesting to watch bird vs human behaviour.

First there were two women walking past, they pause to take some photos. The birds decided to go up the back (maybe, a few metres up the back) and when it was safe, one of them proceeds to go back to the water. Looks back, as if expecting the rest to follow, then they follow.

Then it's a couple. The woman ofc has to take some photos, and the man comes in to scare them and they fly off.

Birds fly away a fair metres away. There was a man jogging, stops and sees them, then takes a photo. They zoom around over the water to decide where to settle in, then settle in back to their original spot.

Not sure what these birds are called.
