@GraveyardSnoop what does the dna look like for their descendants? Do they share with any of the other Larsons?
@tienle47 Thanks! What is this chart?? Where did you find it?
@EllenInEdmonton If you look on the other examples, Js look different than that. I think someone else came in an put in the S bc it isn't like his Ss at the end of words either. Only certain letters have that little double thing at the beginning. Here as a Jsomething Tobias (i think)
@EllenInEdmonton I feel like his boss was probably like "Yeah, yeah, Ebenezer, we know you are a fancy guy, but can you just write it the regular way for once?!"
I am leaning toward Thos?

Anyone want to take a guess at the first name of that second Decker? Here is the link in case you want to see other examples. #geneadons #genealogy

@EllenInEdmonton FYI, rootstech online is free. I took several sessions there last year and they were helpful. I am also going to start working my way through the free stuff at Legacy Family Tree. I have taken one of theirs and it was helpful for the topic I was interested in.

@EllenInEdmonton I am trying to ID the parents of someone born in 1810. I have Y DNA so I know the original immigrant, but not how we connect. I have DNA shared by 9 descendants, but the segments are tiny so I need more info since I can't find any DNA yet with someone who has a documented line.

I can find living ppl almost always (well over 100 searches successfully completed) so I get how DNA and genealogy go together, but this is a really tricky problem to solve!

I have been doing genetic genealogy/dna search work for about 8 years. I was mostly self-taught and figured it out as the technology grew. I want to take some higher level classes bc I have some v complicated mysteries that can only be solved by DNA.

To take the advanced classes, I have to take prerequisite beginner classes that cost like $500 each. They will be so basic and boring, I already want to die just thinking about it.

@lolgop we are finally getting solar for our house. Even in cloudy OH we should be able to get 98% of our usage annually.
