Hi, I'm Erik, a brand manager and content strategist with a penchant for cookies and microphones. Who are you?
@Ludokultur Announcement of announcements sounds convoluted!
@Calm_writer Depends on what you want to know more about. 🙂
@[email protected] Looking at the game's rating it could very well be an issue with the game more so than your chosen platform. On Steam, for example, the game has 10712 reviews and a mostly negative rating at 32%.
@hiddenpeopleclub Yes and no. While they reserve the right to do so, they don't always do. According to some, it's a downside if they do. I always wrote it off as me paying a fee for hosting or something. But that aside, they're the lesser of two evils when it comes to ads. 🙂
@hiddenpeopleclub Ads on Youtube are shorter and in many cases closable after, what is it, 5 seconds I think. On Twitch one or multiple non-clsoable ads can run for 30 seconds to 3 minutes. It all depends on available ads and streamer settings.
@hiddenpeopleclub You're not asking for much, are you? Haha. I know there are ads on Youtube. But given your options, it's the less intrusive and problematic, both in terms of reach and who you'd be supporting.
@Wanderbot It's a good-looking piece. Inexpensive if you were to buy it as well.
@lavesson Like getting a positive review. 😄
@pixelsforbreakfast I didn't expect to see Patreon lead the pack. I guess they bounced back from that Crypto/NFT/AI kerfuffle or whatever it was. Now, when it comes to Substack I don't think it's a good fit for daily pieces. But it sure is something to consider if you're doing 1-2 pieces per week. They also have a Twitter-like feed called Notes that might be able to drive some additional traffic.
@soulsource @maxim I don't know what the promo entails. But if we're talking about a digital game I can't see how anything of the above would be applicable or even reasonably enforceable. Especially not if the hardware tied to the game was shipped to and sold in the country they try to limit. If we're talking about people trying to buy hardware + game for shipment, well, then I can see how the point about export restrictions might be applicable. The whole thing is odd, to say the least.
