PC Gamer has so many ads on any given page I can't take a screenshot to illustrate how bad it is before my image editor tells me the image is to big and that I have to change the allowed image size before it can be processed.

When I see people complain about Linux it always boils down to the terminal. If that's the "only" hurdle, Linux is in a good place. I mean, life throws far more hurdles at us as soon as we leave home. If we can survive that, we can survive the terminal.

I've been told many times that Linux has a Voicemeeter equivalent or that it, at the very least, can do the same with X number of workarounds. Pipeweaver is the most comparable I've seen. Now, I appreciate the effort, but like the workarounds, it's far from what Voicemeeter does. Unsuprisingly, I've also been told to make my own app so I can get the features I want or need. There's just one problem with that. I'm an audio engineer, not a programmer.

Yes, NixOS works like a charm for servers and multi-user setups with different configurations. Especially in an office and developer environment. But NixOS also works like a charm for single-user setups that focuses on gaming and more general use. The fact is, NixOS is a very good option for novice users who leave their systems in a frozen state. That is, if NixOS is installed by someone who knows how to set it up. Highly recommended!
