Fenton's prediction for what comes after #Kubernetes:
Lots of chats at #KubeCon led to a discussion on whether it's the endgame or just the latest in a progression towards ever-smaller isolated workloads. I think it's the latter.
The next stage will likely be C++ based isolated JavaScript workers.
On reflection, I can see why AI looks amazing to folks who:
- Didn't automate stuff before
- Didn't start by writing a test
- Didn't reflect on their deployment pipeline and remove waterfall steps
- Didn't merge to main every hour or two
But, oh my, there are other things you're still missing out on, like feedback loops, that are going to cause you harm.
