I find XP/CD practitioners are largely unimpressed as they've already achieved the throughout (and also maintained high stability).

Compared to "code as fast as you can" folks, I can imagine XP/CD folks using this technology in a very different way, with very different goals, if at all.

On reflection, I can see why AI looks amazing to folks who:

- Didn't automate stuff before
- Didn't start by writing a test
- Didn't reflect on their deployment pipeline and remove waterfall steps
- Didn't merge to main every hour or two

But, oh my, there are other things you're still missing out on, like feedback loops, that are going to cause you harm.

Does this count as a #weirdcar - I don't even know what it is?!!

The goal of life isn't to try and live the longest. There's something more meaningful for each of us to discover.

The goal of software isn't to try and write the most code or deliver the most features. There's something more meaningful for each of us to discover.

Ditto:

'Why are you still on Bluesky too?'

'But did you *delete* your Twitter account?'

’You said you switched to Proton mail too, oh that’s bad, once someone at Proton said something’

It’s nice to see new neighbours move into the Fediverse. It feels unwelcoming to see people immediately interview them about the purity of their intentions. Or telling them You’re Doing It Wrong. They've just arrived on a journey away from Big Tech. Maybe they'd prefer to be offered a seat and a cup of tea.

Ever since I read Steve McConnell's After The Goldrush, I've been listening to people tell me why software engineering should be exempt from the kind of controls that e.g. electrical engineering or medicine or plumbing are subject to.

The reason is almost always "Their work can do real harm".

Yeah? Look around you, dude.

Doing the good work of reporting scam ads. Just as King Canute kept back all those waves 😭

Auto-hide UI. The feature I didn't know I needed and can't live without!

That'll do @Vivaldi
