Here is a view of the Garonne in full port activity. In the foreground, lighters and barges are docked, the former acting as a relay between the quays and the deep-docked ships that cannot get too close to the roadstead, at the risk of silting up. And this sailboat in the middle of the river is probably from a cod fishing vessel, confirming Bordeaux as one of the largest cod ports in France.
