Jersey - School trans guidance won't be replaced with 'hostile' alternative

Aka the kids are alright ...

"politicians cited their conversations with young people, who they said saw the debate as such a 'non-issue', and that the message was that it is the adults who were 'overthinking it.'

Deputy Lucy Stephenson said: 'They are tolerant, supportive and respectful without even having to try. They are the true allies."

"good if it adds, meh if it doesn't,, blearg if it seems clunky or incomprehensible" - sorry to be vague but it depends.

#WritersCoffeeClub What do you feel when a loved one reads your work?

Positive. Some are skilled beta readers not afraid to give difficult feedback. Obviously there's some nerves and some readers in the family can be a bit clumsy about their comments. And knowing their taste it is really helpful if they don't like something.

In general they do, but over thirty years of working with the press I've seen plenty of headlines which made the journalist who wrote the story cough up their coffee.

@faduda

headlines are often written by someone who hasn't actually read the story, so having headlines written by someone who wouldn't understand the story even if they read it is simply peachy

Every application of LLM "AI" just reminds people of why they hate it so much that "AI" is a toxic brand, yet these goons keep burning billions chasing their silicon god, terrified of the day when Number Go Down..

@juliebihn
thank you
my parents and my wife's lovely mother - all three had lived long happy lives and were well supported by family. Two well into their eighties and one in their nineties so likely we'd see some deaths this decade.

@juliebihn

every sympathy I started writing a novel about victorian spiritualism and lost three members of my own family in the years it took to get to market. The books stands up well to that experience.

Very troubling market trading coincides with the announcement of pause in Iran War
