TL;DR Most EV batteries will last longer than the cars they’re in. Battery degradation is at better (meaning: lower) rates than expected. Slow charging is better. Drive EV and don’t worry about your battery.

„Our 2025 analysis of over 22,700 electric vehicles, covering 21 different vehicle models, confirms that overall, modern EV batteries are robust and built to last beyond a typical vehicle’s service life.“

Jeff Bezos is saying the quiet part out loud. They want to kill local computing.

You will own nothing and be happy. You will rent your computing power from the cloud. You pay a subscription for the privilege of using a computer.

AI demand is artificially spiking DRAM prices and Big Tech is pushing "AI PCs," the squeeze is on to force us into a rental model.

Reject this future.

Keep your hardware local.

Own your data.

The "cloud" is just a landlord for your data.

Jeff Bezos said the quiet part out loud — hopes that you'll give up your PC to rent one from the cloud

Amazon's Jeff Bezos once revealed how he thinks of local PC hardware as antiquated, ready to be replaced by cloud options. Will DRAM prices make it come true?

Guess what % of plastics have been #recycled? No prizes :(

Are we solving an energy crisis, or exacerbating a #ClimateCrisis?

Robert Howarth has crunched the numbers: "#LNG has the largest #GreenhouseGas footprint of any #FossilFuel [33% greater than that for coal]".

So why is NZ still considering this again?

OK, so @milliesquilly gave a shoutout to Beny Danette which helped me discover this #HyperText competition winner made in a 12 hour creative sprint!

Inspired by the prodigious self-titled #decker zine queen @milliesquilly:
https://zine.milliesquilly.com/

@noracodes made a #zine in Decker:

which got shared by @alcinnz and that’s where I discovered Decker, a platform that builds on the old-school interactive feel of #Hypercard and rocks that Classic MacOS look:

There's even a #Twine integration! Time for some non-linear, interactive #storytelling, #HyperText style.
