@linker3000 is this your node? If so, managed to hear it all the way down here! I
Found this beauty in the house this morning! My photo app informs me it is a swallow-tailed #moth #mothstodon
Left my ‘mini’ #meshtastic node out on the roof last night and picked up over 100 more nodes, reaching down to France (via Jersey) and over to Ireland! Even had some messages too although seeming no ‘conversation’ Only downside now is this proves I have issues with my fixed node as that sees nothing but me! Some more playing needed or I maybe swap it for #meshcore and see if that see anything 🤔
Impressed to discover 40 nodes on way to NQY and back!
Off on an outing today so taking my mini #Mestastic node and also a #Meshcore node I quickly setup. Main node is now up on the gable of house to hopefully give a little extra coverage too, lets see what we can make contact with today!

For my Mini Node I’m in need of some help sourcing what I guess is a #RAK produced Mini IO board but pretty sure it no longer exists 😔 been following this project from Printables

https://www.printables.com/model/286662-rak19003-case-for-meshtastic

And it has a link to Etsy for the Mini IO board to expose a button but no joy so far figuring out what it actually is or where to purchase.

Next tasks are to get the buzzer working on the mini node and environment sensor on the fixed node. Although the fixed node will be in a mostly sealed box it’ll be nice to be aware of the environmental readings. Both of these only a few £ each so was worth it just to play, so tiny though!! After that, time to get the fixed node in the box and antenna mounted up on the gable with an Ethernet connection!
I then had some more fun figuring out CLI commands to configure the RP based Lora chip on this board that will become the fixed node, possibly in repeater or router mode. I also discovered how accurate you need to be with lat/long if you want it somewhere near where it actually is! Only 1 or 2 decimal places can we widely put!
So life got in the way and only now getting back to playing #Meshtastic Having fun squeezing all this in the tiny case I found on Printables. Also even more fun soldering wires to the board and OLED! Learnt that even if the solder looks ok, it might not be ok enough for decent comms for the OLED so I wasted considerable time thinking I had a dodgy screen🙄
Found what I think is a European Hornet in a delivery today! Gave me a bit of a fright initially! Although alive it seems a bit poorly! #insects #hornets
