@bikenite a late A8. We were traveling a bunch. I got out on a quick ride to get some coffee while visiting Chicago for a short time. Here are a few cycling pictures/video from the short ride and Chicago in general. I will put captions in the alt-text. It was cold!
(Looks like I can’t include video with photos, so photos only here)

Happy New Year 2026! I hope this year is a better year than the last.
This linocut shows how I imagine the great white stork of European folklore, who carries babies to new parents.
The ancient stork-the-baby-bringer legend was made popular by Hans Christian Anderson’s story called ‘The Storks’. The stork is quite stylized, inspired by ancient Chinese art, and not an attempt to accurately 🧵

‘Looks like murder’, 22 x 20 cm linocut of The Street, Castle Combe. When I printed this piece it struck me (with its brooding blacks and stark whites) as a scene out of a 1930s murder mystery — hence the title. It is a print I made some three years back and such is the way that the hand moves on, looking at it now I wonder if I could ever make something in the same style again. It is as though it were made by a relative of mine.
This year’s #PrinterSolstice prompts are math themed, which seems perfect for my #womenInSTEM series. The first prompt, “addition” made me think of the greenhouse effect, excess additional atmospheric CO2 and the resulting excess terrestrial temperatures. It made me think of a scientist who has been on my to do list for years: Eunice Newton Foote. The reason I have not tackled her portrait 🧵

It’s Christmas Eve, and next #BikeNite is this Friday at 4pm Pacific standard time (UTC-8)!
This is our weekly call for questions. Reply with any you'd like me to add to the discussion on Friday. Please add the BikeNitePQ hashtag so it's easier to find a Proposed Question. There is room for more, and I’ll compile them on Friday morning. I wish you all a nice holiday.
(BikeNite is a Q&A type discussion on the Fediverse.) #BikeTooter cc @bikenite

a statement from Waterfox team:
"... browsers are operating systems of their own, and a browser’s job is to be a good steward of that environment. AI, in its current form and in my opinion does not match that responsibility.
... The core browsing experience should be one that fully puts the user in control, not one where you’re constantly monitoring an inscrutable system that claims to be helping you.
Waterfox will not include LLMs. Full stop."
