@crft I took a look at one of the johang images but the boot was set up the usual way, not through initramfs. Regardless, I later realized what the problem with my extlinux config file was. I incorrectly used the rdinit param, now setting it to /sbin/init and the system boots from initramfs just fine.
@crft Glad to hear it works now. I'll take a look at their boot configuration when I have time. I struggled earlier trying to boot initramfs using extlinux. Booting root fs the usual way is so far the only way I can boot Alpine successfully.
@crft Have you tried booting the Debian image first? If so, did it work?
