I created an account redirect to @sporksmith , but then cancelled it for now since I'm getting a lot of interaction on what was to be my last post here, and was having trouble responding from the new account.

Will probably wait for that post to cool down a bit and then do the full "account move"

Alternatively maybe I'll just make a bunch of alts on instances I'm interested in checking out, and later consolidate as needed through the account migration feature 🤔

Shopping around for smaller (less overloaded) instances. I thought I'd found a way before to preview local instance timelines, but can't find it again now.

After searching for it, it seems gargron considers local timelines a legacy feature that he's trying to deemphasize :/. https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-ios/issues/221

Even embracing his philosophy of choosing based on instance admins and policies, seeing the local timeline would be a nice "vibe check" of how the server is actually run vs how they say it's run.

It doesn't look like there's a way to use mastodon's "verified link" feature to link mastodon accounts together, since there's no way to create a real link with the rel="me" attribute in your profile. Bummer.
It's the Mandalorian problem.
The hardest thing about moving to Mastodon is remembering if it's Mastodon or Mastadon.

I don't play a ton of video games lately, but Monster Train has sucked me in since snagging it from a steam sale a couple weeks ago. It's a deck building rogue-lite in a similar vein as Slay The Spire... maybe with a bit more of a tower defense flavor.
