This is not Cinnamon. Cinnamon is a dog and this is where his food bowl goes. The pedestal is enough of a box for Ahsoka the cat to sit in. She was quite content, even a drooling dog mere inches away didn't motivate her to move. I had to move her to feed the dog. #catsinBoxes #ragamuffin #cats #caturday #catsOfMastodon
Bumper crop of mushrooms in my backyard this weekend, #mushrooms
Look at this wonderful little flatworm! #Planarian #flatworm
Giant house spider. Trying with a handheld 150mm macro lens (manual focus), so the photos didn't come out as I wanted. It's welcome in my office, but don't tell the rest of the family it's here. #spider #gianthousespider
This made sense to her at the time. #caturday #Ragamuffin
Ahsoka is quite photogenic when she’s willing to stay still long enough. #caturday #Ragamuffin
Even better, this one was probably worth the time and effort. #microscope #microphotography #lichen
Much better. Focus stack of 15 images, visible part of stalk is about 1-1.5mm long. #microscope #microphotography #lichen
I fumbled these lichen (maybe Cladonia cariosa, but probably a Cladonia species) and got a bunch of detritus on the cover glass, ruining a whole bunch of photos, but I may be able to fix some of it. In the meantime, these pictures didn't suck. #microscope #microphotography #lichen

“There’s no way you can determine live birth versus stillbirth with this test," said one doctor, who called the test “an outrageous breach of science.”

A Lab Test That Experts Liken to a Witch Trial Is Helping Send Women to Prison for Murder

The “lung float” test claims to help determine if a baby was born alive or dead, but many medical examiners say it’s too unreliable. Yet the test is still being used to bring murder charges — and get convictions.
