We sequenced and analyzed #transcriptome of pods from seven cacao genotypes inoculated #Phytophthora palmivora and controls. I was a little surprised by the hidden cost of the ā€œcompanion kitā€ required for library prep. I was expecting the kit to come with everything weā€™d need. Fortunately it comes with 4x more reactions than I need, so Iā€™ll have some left over for the next time I do nanopore sequencing.

Hey! Do not store multiple lines in a single cell of a CSV file. This is untidy. If you need multiple lines in a cell, you are not using the correct data layout.

Even when Iā€™m using command line BLAST, I still find the Web BLAST table of contents from NCBI helpful for choosing the correct tool.
