People need to stop saying "remove this device" will stop it accessing data in your #Microsoft account. (New emails, OneDrive files, etc).

All it does is stop showing the device in your account (assuming you are not using the device any more).

Yes, I tested it. I think a lot of writers forgot to do that.

If you're wondering why your running #Ubuntu computer asked you to sign in to your own wifi, it's because connectivity-check.ubuntu.com. is down right now (timing out).

Ignore it & you'll be fine.

Turns out, #Microsoft account does not reliably list connected devices. For over 6 months now.

There are many reports, and they are supposedly working on it. Doesn't seem helpful for security :-(

So it turns out that Ubuntu's Firefox Snap blocks Firefox from reading the system memory pressure, which it uses to work out when to reclaim memory by hibernating unused tabs.

Nobody thought to check why this kept getting blocked by AppArmor until someone pointed it out, and it still hasn't been fixed.

Why can the Gemini app access things without permission?

I was in the impression that you could control what an app can do with your phone using "Permissions" and therefore checked Gemini's permissions, which says "No permissions necessary...

Drop-in time at the library has been so hectic in 2026 that I haven't really had time for summaries. I work from 2-4:30 every Thursday, first come, first served. There have been six people per week except for today when I had only five. I try to loosely keep track of my W-L record and today I went 4 for 5 which is the best I've done so far in 2026 so here's the recap.
