The unified keyboard/gamepad module for Pilet 7 mini computer is now available for pre-order on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soulscircuit/pilet-opensource-modular-portable-mini-computer

This week’s update: cooling on the Pilet.
We’ve focused on two things: keeping it cool under load and staying quiet.

Both Pilet 5 and 7 use a solid aluminum chassis that doubles as a passive heatsink. We also designed a custom aluminum heatsink that connects directly to it.

There is a fan but it’s whisper quiet and only spins up when needed. We tested 20+ fans to find the one you won’t even notice.

We've just added some extra safety features for battery module. We've integrated an eFuse chipset + battery protection for overvoltage, reverse polarity, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection. Safety first!
Pilet's stereo audio module design is now complete. It features the TI TLV320AIC3105 codec, a Knowles microphone, and a 3.5mm TRRS stereo audio jack. The speakers connect via JST SURS connectors, making them easy to swap or upgrade.
We’re looking for a passionate web developer to join our team and help refine our website.
If you’re experienced with Svelte, SvelteKit, TailwindCSS, and have some solid backend knowledge, we want to hear from you. Feel free to reach out to us at team@soulscircuit.com
Here is a preview of Pilet's NVMe module which is now in manufacturing and testing. We’re also considering using a knurled thumb screw instead of a traditional screw for securing the SSD. This would make installation and swapping SSDs much easier, but it might slightly increase thickness. Let us know what you think.

We're completely redesigning the keyboard/gamepad module for Pilet, but before we dive in, we'd love to hear your ideas and suggestions!

Here’s a first look at the LTE module for Pilet. The design is finalized and has been sent for manufacturing and testing. Next, we’re focusing on the software to enable phone calls and internet access.

Would you prefer making calls with a simple terminal command or using a graphical interface? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

A huge shoutout to our newest contributor, Alessandro (https://github.com/ale1800), for his incredible work on our input controller. Powered by RP2040, it features a custom-designed trackball offering precision beyond anything currently available.
