@gknauss That's probably a fair assessment.

There are a startling number of nouns and verbs that we only consider one, but have switched (maybe multiple times) through history.

Not really a hill worth dying on for any living language, regardless of one's opinion of the source.

@inthehands @lisamelton

@johnofrobotz Oh, thanks for that. Shows how completely unoriginal it is.

@mattblaze Three questions, if I may:

1. Do you take photo requests?
2. Do you ever go to Houston?
3. If yes to both, how much would you charge for a requested photo?

@davidrevoy Heh! Reminds me of the Golden Snitch of Critical Role.

One of the cast had a golden 20 that seemed to roll exceptionally well for him. At the end of the campaign the DM ended up with it... and it was later stolen from his car.

Maybe this is where it ended up....

@budgetkratos Where do you think genAI learned such styles? They were trained on stolen work of real human artists, like David.

@davidrevoy

@Netraven There's literally a game for this on Steam, "Date Everything!"

Some really good voice actors in it too, I understand.

@WarnerCrocker Oil prices dropped.

And I bet insiders are soaking the roller coaster for every buck.

@donhawkins

@glutto Or Israel will. Ceasefires don't seem to mean much to Bibi.

AP says it will offer buyouts, part of pivot from newspaper-focused history

The Associated Press says it will offer buyouts to an unspecified number of its U.S.-based journalists as part of an acceleration away from the focus on newspapers and their print journalism that sustained the company for more than 1½ centuries. The news organization is becoming more focused on visual journalism and developing new revenue sources, particularly through companies investing in artificial intelligence. That's to cope with the economic collapse of many legacy news outlets. Once the lion’s share of AP’s revenue, big newspaper companies now account for 10% of its income. Julie Pace, AP's executive editor, says that “we’re not a newspaper company and we haven’t been for quite some time.
