mathias@solaradmin love to see how you’ve come to adapt to the limitations rather than just seeing it as a thing to overcome because there’s some inconvenience. A model for us all.
It shouldn't be a problem, we've optimised solarcene perhaps a bit too much particularly when its not the depths of winter, it might mean some offline time but I don't think that's a bad thing - part of the joy of these mastodon instance is the downtime it brings.
Will keep everyone updated on how it goes, will post some graphs as well when I've got a bit of data
solarcene.community update - for the last few years the server system has been powered by 4x120W panels in my garden, my family have finally started to reclaim the decking area and so after long negotiations I've removed 2 of the panels so that it 'looks a bit better' 😜 . I can put the 2 panels back again in October when we are less likely to have friends over

smallsolarOne of my favourite things about mastodon is when authors talk about their books and I pre-order them and then forget and a surprise appears at some point. I've had awesome #solarpunk anthologies, a book about airline maps, a wonderful book about communication methods, a book about fediverse and more.
I don't think I have anything pre-ordered right now - let me know if you've got something brewing which I can queue up...

I live in Italy, I work in video games, and in my spare time I play tabletop games with my friends (we are well into our forties, but have been playing together ever since we were teenagers), fiddle with bash scripting, and read (currently reading "The brothers Karamazov".
I am interested in off grid living, though at the moment I am in a rented flat so have few options to go solar.
