Watch All of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Performed on Original Baroque Instruments

Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons reigns as one of the world’s most recognizable early 18th-century pieces, thanks to its frequent appearances in films and television commercials. Upon its debut in 1725, The Four Seasons stunned listeners by telling a story without the help of a human voice.

Unveiling FSB's 16th Center SIGINT Capabilities | Claudia T.

The beauty of OSINT isn't in doing the same actions over and over for every similar case. It's the ability to find novel solutions to the problems posed by answering a question -- and being empowered to follow that creativity. This report is an excellent use case highlighting how creative solutions can lead to actionable intelligence. "OSINT & Phaleristics: Unveiling FSB's 16th Center SIGINT Capabilities", by the team at CheckFirst, describes how using the power of OSINT, combined with creativing thinking, created a novel solution that unmasked the Russian FSB SIGINT (signals intelligence) unit - 16th Center. How did they do it? CheckFirst focused on miliary insignia, scouring data from a vast amount of sources. Insignia show key symbols and can lead to information such as the unit's creation, evolution, naming conventions, internal relationships, and locations. In this case, a picture (or symbol) is truly worth a thousand words. Focusing on the meaning and visual cues of the insignia symbology, the CheckFirst team were able to not only understand the historic evolution of the unit, but also gather valuable actionable intelligence such as the internal heirarchy, relationships and locations of signals interception centers within Russia. The ability to think in creative ways to solve problems, and pivot to put these novel solutions into practice, is what makes OSINT powerful. This requires a flexibility and trust not found in all environments. Thinking around problems to find novel solutions is a skill with a premium. OSINT doesn't have to be repetitive tasks. At its heart, OSINT is a creative endeavor for solutions within complex systems. Do you have a good use case of when a problem was solved using a creative and novel solution? Drop it in the comments!
