What a time to be alive!

Honestly, it’s like listening to a five year old talk.

Actually, that’s not fair.

I’ve heard a lot of five year olds who make a lot more sense.

First things first: Which OS, or "distro" as you call them over in Linux land, for this UI-nerd?

I tried Ubuntu & Linux Mint, but didn't like how they looked and felt.

I was on the edge of giving up on the idea, but then I tried Fedora and something clicked.

Maybe this could work.

I got my first PC when I was 11. An Amstrad 1640 (an 8086 processor with 640KB of RAM, a 20MB hard drive, and CGA-capable graphics.

I loved PCs throughout my teenage and early adult years, but I switched to Apple the day Windows 98 launched, and didn't look back.

And yet 28 years later, here I am switching to back to PC, this time to Linux.

It's a bit nerve-racking, and I know there will be compromises along the way in terms of lost features and abilities, but its time.

I’ve been all-in on Apple for most of my life. Macs, iPhones, iPads, Watch, AirPods, you name it.

But recent U.S. leadership and instability have finally pushed me over the edge.

I’m doing the unthinkable: switching to Linux and moving away from American-owned products & services wherever I can.

It’s not about perfection; it’s about reclaiming control.
