You can also just email me at [email protected] if you want. Fresh off the Sicko Showcase, I've decided to host an online showcase of local game dev (and game dev adjacent?) scenes around the world. And this showcase is not just about the games but about the events, the community, the very essence of what makes your scene special. Each Local Scene will have a ~5 minute segment that should be a mix of highlighting your scene with some short clips of local games. How you cut the game clips into your video is entirely up to you but this isn't going to be just another trailer showcase event, the focus should be about what makes your scene special to you. This isn't about new or upcoming games, it's about the community around you! There's no format for the videos and don't worry about them being some professional production. Showing up is far more important than being perfect! Ideas for the video -Show off video of events you've hosted in the past -Talk about what your scene is like, what kind of events you host, what you feel makes it special -Different members of your community talking about why they love it -Clips of games made by your scene (should be in all videos) If all you have the resources or time to make is a video of someone in a room talking directly into a camera followed by clips of your games, that's fine too! If you've already made a video showcasing your scene there's no need to make a new one, you can use the one you already have if you want. I have a deep love for local scenes and think they're crucial to the health of any art form, especially for those who lack resources, whether those resources are time, money, social reach, or anything else. I also have plans to do an online Local Scene Fest, but let's see what people thing of the showcase first. There is no curation process, if you submit then you're in.
