Wet bread wrapped inside.

Dry noodles left outside, placed casually.

DIY routers might finally get the same sort of revolution that's been happening in the self-hosted world. It's not much effort to add a NIC to an old PC and install OPNsense after all.

Consumers surely feel much safer knowing that their backdoors are made in the USA.

The FCC Just Banned the Sale of New Wi-Fi Router Models Made Outside US

The surprising order means any new Wi-Fi router models sold in the country must be US-made, or receive an exemption from the Pentagon or Homeland Security Department.

@mattrobertson that’s smart. I’m thinking of getting some motorised external blinds so will be stealing that idea.

It’s happening!

I didn’t tell my partner about the change. It got dark and I asked her if she considered it dark enough to turn on the lights. She said yes and about a minute later they turned on automatically.

Looks like this in YAML. The last condition is just to stop this unnecessarily firing after sunset.

Got around to using my weather station's ambient light sensor as an input to my "turn the evening lights on" automation in home assistant.

Just using the sun state doesn't really work on overcast days like today because it's dark for ages before the lights come on.

Now the lights should turn on if it's close to sunset and already dark.

Latest aliexpress arrival. Cleaned up my patch cables for $38 AUD. I got the 0.15m length.

@mattrobertson just took it down for a clean and while there were leaves in there they didn’t seem to be interfering. Manually tipping the bucket works. I blame ghosts 🤷‍♂️
