Retired nurse and member of the Vintage Reds (lifelong union member). Whisky, architecture, landcare. Food nazi and general left wing ratbag. Always learning. #FreeGaza🇵🇸

Put your country in your profile, please.
And keep to the left you bastards.

Canberra (Australia), unceded Ngunnawal/Ngambri country.

Good crowd of #ABC local and federal journos and support staff (MEAA), plus a bunch of other unions and Vintage Reds here in solidarity. We just recruited Elizabeth Byrne (ABC court reporter) who is about to retire, yay !! They're all off to the pub for lunch, back on duty 11am tomorrow. Pls boycott all trackable ABC sites until then!! #AusUnions
Vintage Reds represent! At the ABC studios for the #ABC demo in Dickson.
As far as I know, this MCM gem on Northbourne by the great Robin Boyd is not listed on the heritage register. How it survives is a mystery. Used to be Churchill House, now Open Systems House (FFS). Anyhoo, enjoy it while it lasts... looks empty to me, can't be long for this world.
#ThickTrunkTuesday My fave old tree at our landcare site on the shared path at Mawson. It's at least 400 yrs old, and also maybe a scar tree. 💚
Scotty left Batlow at 3.30am with the first organic apples of the season. Yay!! The heirloom varieties were rationed to 3 or 4 per person. Some will be dehydrated.
I have secured the first heirloom organic apples of the season from my Batlow apple man and am now in the queue at the Bot Gards (dropped a friend off at 7.30 so we're third in the queue!).
Ohmyverygawd @cheryanne this was next level banh mi... 👌. Traditional (cold cuts) and the best. The rolls were so fresh and soft, but crunchy, the sauce was warm (!!), and when you ask for extra chilli they take you seriously even if you're white trash. 😅

The weekly stroll through Woden cemetery en route to the markets. So restful.. 🤪😍

Perfect weather up at Kosciuszko for the 9km return walk to Blue Lake. A lot of up, up, up and down, down, down, plus a bracing but unscheduled dip in the Snowy River crossing 😅. And now, on the way home, the bloody honeymoon* ankle is giving me gyp**.

* 44 years!
** I know this is politically incorrect but I can't think of a better expression.

This explains why tomorrow's trip to Kosciuszko NP is day only, in the car, rather than an overnighter in the camper: diesel! Sheesh. Anyway, Blue Lake walk here we come (himself's gammy leg notwithstanding): it's my happy place. 🩵
