This is the Sassolungo mountain in the Dolomites. From this side, it looks like a giant stone wall, but it is actually shaped like a big horseshoe. The huge grey rock stands high above a forest of beautiful yellow trees. It is a perfect contrast between the cold mountain stone and the warm colors of autumn.

Heute lachst du vielleicht noch über Inklusion. Morgen rutscht deine Mutter auf nassem Boden aus. Schädelhirntrauma. Pflegegrad. Sprachstörung. Und plötzlich sitzt du auf Ämtern. Bettelst um Hilfsmittel. Um Barrierefreiheit. Um Würde für deine Mutter. Dann merkst du, dass Faschisten nie nur „die anderen“ treffen. Krankheit, Behinderung und Schwäche können jeden Menschen in Sekunden erreichen. Genau deshalb ist eine Gesellschaft nur dann menschlich, wenn sie die Schwächsten schützt. Wer Inklusion zerstört, zerstört am Ende die Sicherheit aller.

Today I share a favourite from a trip years ago into the high mountains of the Assiniboine Range in #Canada during fall when the golden larches were at their absolute peak. The golden larches dotting the landscape in golden colouring at every turn.

Highly recommend backpacking this region. It is absolutely stunning.
