IMSA driver Sheena Monk is joining us for the 24 Heures du Simeone this weekend. The Pennsylvania native races the No. 16 Myers Riley Ford Mustang GT3, and her sights are set on Le Mans itself.

Sheena will be speaking during the event. Whether she stays out of the driver's seat the whole weekend is another question.

24 Heures du Simeone, June 13 to 14. All 24 hours, two full-motion racing simulators from SKR Sim Racing Center, thanks to the ACO. 43-inch triple screens, Dolby 5.1, active 5-point harness, speed-synced wind, haptic pedals. As close to Le Mans as it gets without leaving Philly!

For all he accomplished in medicine, history, and the world of racing, Dr. Simeone never seemed interested in being placed above anyone else. His standard was simpler, and probably more important: be a good person, stay curious, never stop learning, and remain a regular guy.

It's why everyone that had the chance to know him also loved him. We miss him everyday.

Before there was the Simeone Museum, there was the Simeone Collection.

Dr. Simeone kept much of it in an unassuming private parking garage in the center of Philadelphia, where he would spend time between surgeries or during the rare hours he was away from the hospital.

Dr. Simeone did not simply collect history. He lived with it, studied it, preserved it, and, whenever possible, put it back on the road. Here he is with our 1937 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900A and 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B taking on the Mille Miglia rally...twice.
Fun fact. Dr. Simeone's favorite song was "Smooth Operator" and he would play it during surgery.
Dr. Simeone was also one of the world’s leading neurosurgeons. In recognition of his medical contributions, he was named a Cavaliere by the President of the Republic of Italy. He also co-authored The Spine with Dr. Richard Rothman, one of the most important medical texts ever written on spinal surgery.
