evo awards being used to reveal characters feels gross. like it shouldnt be gross since the first one had that COTW exhibition but maybe the added context of everything that has happened since them makes it feel more gross to me today. i have especially come to realize over the past year how much you need to strike the balance of making a cool thing and making cool thing make money but damn. don't forget to buy the next product yall

The reason we dont have this today, imo, is because forum software is largely developed as premium, enterprise-first software and no longer for hobbyists to congregate (not to say that doesnt happen anymore, just a much larger lift for an archaic medium than before)
